These terms govern your use of the Geoverio APIs, dashboard and website. Creating an account means you accept them.

1. The service
Geoverio provides HTTP APIs — currently Sales Tax, Address Autocomplete and IP Lookup — reachable with a single bearer key, plus a dashboard for managing keys, plans, usage and invoices.
2. Your account
You must give accurate registration details and keep them current. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account and your keys. Keys are secrets: keep them on your server, in an environment variable, never in client-side code or a public repository. If a key is exposed, revoke it in your dashboard — revocation takes effect immediately.
We offer two-factor authentication and we recommend enabling it.
3. Acceptable use
You may not:
- use the service to break the law, or to infringe anyone's rights;
- attempt to circumvent rate limits, quotas or authentication, including by creating multiple free accounts for one person or organisation;
- resell, redistribute or sub-license raw API responses as a competing data product — if reselling is your business, that is what the Partner Program is for;
- submit data you have no right to process, or use the service to build profiles of individuals in a way that breaches applicable data protection law;
- probe, scan or load-test our infrastructure without written permission, or otherwise interfere with the service for other customers.
We may suspend an account that is causing harm to the service or to others. Where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will tell you first.
4. Plans, limits and billing
Each plan carries a monthly request quota, a per-minute rate limit and a maximum number of keys; the current figures are on the pricing page and in the documentation. Requests beyond your per-minute limit receive 429 and are not billed. Rejected authentication and validation errors do not consume quota.
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically until cancelled. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing period, so you keep the capacity you have already paid for. Prices are exclusive of VAT and other applicable taxes, which are added where required.
Payments are processed by Stripe. If a payment fails we will retry and email you; if it remains unpaid we may suspend the account.
5. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time from your dashboard; the plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for and does not renew. We do not generally refund partial periods. If the service materially failed to work as described, write to us — we would rather resolve it than argue about it.
6. Availability
We target 99.9% monthly availability for the API and publish incidents on our status page. On self-serve plans this is a target, not a contractual service level. Contractual uptime commitments, support response times and service credits are available on Enterprise agreements — talk to us.
We may perform maintenance that briefly affects availability. We will announce planned maintenance in advance where we can.
7. Data
You keep all rights in the data you send us. You grant us only the licence needed to operate the service: to process your requests, cache results, meter usage and prevent abuse. Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, and for data you send on behalf of your own users, in the Data Processing Addendum.
Geoverio keeps all rights in the service, the software and the documentation.
8. Accuracy of results
Our APIs return the best answer we can compute from the data available to us. Tax rates, address data and IP intelligence change, and no provider is correct 100% of the time. Responses are provided for use in your product, not as tax, legal or compliance advice, and you remain responsible for the decisions your product makes with them. Every response carries the fields you need to judge its confidence — use them.
9. Changes to the service and to these terms
We add capability continuously and try never to break an integration. If we must make a breaking change to an API we will version it and give reasonable notice. If we change these terms materially we will email account holders before the change takes effect; continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the new version.
10. Warranties and liability
The service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to that, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue or data, and our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
11. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may terminate for material breach of these terms, or for non-payment, after giving you notice and a reasonable chance to fix it. On termination your keys stop working and your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
12. General
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and — where applicable — the DPA, are the whole agreement between us. If any provision is unenforceable the rest survives. Neither party may assign the agreement without the other's consent, except as part of a merger or sale of substantially all of its business.
